Highlights of September 20th Meeting:

Review and revise budget

Planning for Harvest Festival at Fort Vannoy Farm

Assign chairpersons for committees

Blue Slide update (phase one completed, still raising money)

Highlights of October 18th Meeting:

Report on Harvest Festival:  $1689 in ticket sales (profit $729) Raffle netted $6,031 profit.

Mr. Lewis requested more i pads for classrooms

Garden Update:  140 students in garden during lunch recess

Approved money for music program instruments

Comfort Food Drive dates:  October 20 & November 17

Campus Closet will be staffed by Parkside PTA on Feb. 6th & 20th

Highlights of November 15th Meeting:

Voted to order a Parkside Pioneers two-sided sign for the front lawn of the school. 

Mr. Lewis was able to purchase five more i pads and eight netbooks with PTA funds.

Discussed purchasing a t.v. monitor for the office area to showcase Parkside events and students.

Great news of receiving a $38,000 grant for phase two of the Blue Slide Project.

Highlights of January 17th Meeting:

Approved increase in Read at Home budget to fund prizes.

Discussed recruiting parents for PTA membership and help with activities. 

Suggestion of family activities such as "Movie Nights" and parents joining students for breakfast ("Muffins for Moms" and "Donuts for Dads").

Date set for "Walk and Roll" annual jog-a-thon fundraiser (April 11th).

Volunteers to staff Campus Closet on February 6th and 20th.

Highlights of February 21st Meeting:

Earth Day Event scheduled for April 22nd.  Each grade level will participate in various activities that promote taking care of our Earth.

Parkside jog-a-thon fundraiser "Walk and Roll" prizes were discussed.  Mr. Lewis agreed to eat a worm if the school raises $13,000. Parent helpers will be needed to help with the jog-a-thon on April 11th.

Pictures for the Parkside Yearbook need to be turned in to Kim Joham by March 8th.

Blue Slide Update:  Rock clean-up is the second Saturday of each month (bring brooms).  Fundraising for phase two of the playground is underway.  Contact Mona Pinon to purchase t-shirts or Tupperware.  Also an open-air market fundraiser was discussed.

Highlights of April 18th Meeting:

Jog-a-thon update:  Over $10,000 was raised for the school. (Mr. Lewis does not have to eat a worm!)

Teacher Appreciation Week activities were discussed.

"Muffins For Moms" sponsored by the PTA was approved for May 10th.  Students may eat a muffin with their moms from 7:30-8:00 a.m..

Blue Slide Project update:  Lithia Motors will donate $100 for each car sold during the month of May.

Next year's PTA officers will be voted on at the next meeting, May 16th.
