For daily seatwork I use the following grading system:
* The star means that your child met the criteria for the assignment. I allow a child to miss one problem and still get a star. (95%-100% correct)
+ The "plus" symbol means that your child missed more than one or that he/she came very close to a star. (80%-94% correct)
√ The "check" symbol means that your child did not meet the criteria I explained before the assignment. (below 80% correct)
For Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies grades, I use the following scoring rubric:
5- Exceeds grade level expectations
4- Meets grade level expectations MOST of the time
3- Demonstrates grade level expectations SOME of the time
2- Beginning but incomplete understanding of skills and concepts
1- Little/no progress or non-performing
