Classified IBB Updates

  • IBB Summary:

    February 19th, 2019:

    We had an interest based bargaining session on February 19, 2019. Discussions were had, and progress was made in several areas listed below:

    • Ground rules for this bargaining process
    • Seniority, bidding, and a minimum number of hours for bus routes in Transportation
    • Staff required to report to work on Emergency Closure days
    • The application process for applying for open positions
    • Adding the number of work days for each job classification to the contract
    • Vacancies that occur within 30 days of an employee’s proposed start date
    • Probationary period
    • Staff preparedness for the first day of school
    • Just Cause for probationary employees 
    • Adding time to work schedules
    • Job categories
    • Professional Development

     Our next session will be on March 11th. We look forward to continuing conversations and collaboration as we work through this process.

    March 11th, 2019:

    We had an interest based bargaining session on March 11, 2019. Discussions were had, and progress was made in several areas listed below:

    • Adding time to work schedules
    • Professional Development
    • Job-categories – This work is being moved to a sub-committee that will make recommendations to the large group
    • Vacancies that occur within 30 days of an employee’s proposed start date
    • Probationary period
    • Staff preparedness for the first day of school
    • Paid holidays for 12-month staff members

    Our next session will be on April 1st. We look forward to continuing conversations and collaboration as we work through this process.

    April 9th, 2019:

    We had an interest based bargaining session on April 9, 2019. Discussions were had, and progress was made in several areas listed below:

    • Adding Christmas Eve as a paid holiday for 12-month employees
    • Changes on Personal Leave langauge
    • Changes to Food Service job classifications
    • Changes to langauge regarding dues deductions
    • Agreement to move some items to LMC discussions
    • Began looking at Sick Leave Bank language 

    Our next session will be on April 18th. We look forward to continuing conversations and collaboration as we work through this process.

    April 18th, 2019:

    We had an interest based bargaining session on April 18, 2019. Discussions were had, and progress was made in several areas listed below:

    • Changes to Sick Leave Bank langauge 
    • Staff prepardness for the first day of school -- costs 
    • Ability for employees to work in more than one classification -- topic moved to LMC
    • Library Techs job classification

    Our next session will be on May 7th. We look forward to continuing conversations and collaboration as we work through this process.
