Campus Closet is a service sponsored by the United Community Action Network. It serves District 7 students from families with limited income or other emergency needs. It is located at the United Community Action Network building, on the corner of 6th and Manzanita, 125 Manzanita Ave. The facility is operated by parent and community volunteers and serves Grants Pass School District students enrolled in grades K-12. Sorry, no adults, preschoolers, or infants.
Students are welcome to shop at Campus Closet two times per school year (August-May) and once during the summer time (June-July). An admit slip is required for each family every school year. Students may obtain an Admit Slip from their school's office, teachers, counseling center, or at Campus Closet for the summer. All D7 Students are welcome to shop at Campus Closet. Students are able to choose 10 items of clothing (that includes no more than two pairs of shoes). Additionally, they will receive three pairs of socks and five pairs of underwear.
Shopping and donation schedule is:
Summer hours (June-July): Tuesday-Thursday, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
School hours (August-May): Tuesday-Thursday, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
For more information or special arrangements, please call Kelly Wessels 541-956-4472.
Campus Closet is always in need of clean, gently used school clothes that are in current style. Clothing drives are held at each of the District 7 schools on a yearly basis to stock the shelves at Campus Closet. The Closet also is grateful to receive clothing donations from students, teachers, community members and retailers throughout the year.
Campus Closet also accepts cash donations and will provide a receipt for tax purposes. With cash donations, Campus Closet is able to purchase brand new socks and underwear as well as other items of clothing or shoes.
Campus Closet is organized Kelly Wessels, and is powered by countless volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with Campus Closet, please sign up with a Volunteer Spot. Volunteer opportunities are available for sorting donations, washing, mending, hanging, folding, helping with drives, and working at the Campus Closet during our shopping. Prospective volunteers should contact Rebecca deGreyt at 541-956-4474 or firstname.lastname@example.org
