21 students GPHS students traveled to SOU for the adjudication of our State of Jefferson Academic Scavenger Hunt questions. We are proud to announce that the students earned 2nd place! They worked hard and argued well. This is a very difficult challenge, that involves finding answers to questions, that sometimes don’t seem possible! Congratulations to our students and their advisors; Ms. Weber, Mrs. Mathews, and Mrs. Watson.
Congratulations to our Marching Band and Color Guard for their 2nd straight Northwest Championship! This is a tremendous accomplishment for our students, band staff, school, and community. Our marching band students put many, many hours of hard work into preparing. How wonderful to see it all pay off. Congratulations!
Representatives from Harbor Freight Tools, local media, School Board members, staff, and many students surprised Jake Leair with the news that he was one of 20 second place winners across the country in an Harbor Freight Tools contest. Jake and his program have won $50,000! He also won a trophy- in the form of a Caveman blue Tool Chest. Jake has worked so hard in developing his program to be a model regionally and across the country. There is proof in his students, his former students employed across the country, the Skills USA winners, and in his teaching every day. Congratulations Jake!
