Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Courtney Tucker
Living in Grants Pass most of my life, I am a District 7 native. I went to Highland Elementary, North Middle School, and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1996. In 2001 I married my husband, Tyson. Together we have two sons, Evan (17) and Logan (15). Both boys are students at Grants Pass High School and enjoy soccer, cello, cross-country, theatre, and leadership. When the kids were in elementary school, they attended Parkside where I volunteered in the classroom, on PTA, and on Site Council. Eventually, I applied for a job as an aide in Title 1 with Mrs. Sarver. For 5 years I worked at Parkside, while at the same time returning to college, only leaving to student teach. In 2019, I graduated from Western Governors University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Last year, I taught 5th grade at Madrona Elementary , but knew my heart always belonged at Parkside where my kids had gone. I look forward to being back home this year, teaching 5th grade!
Outside of teaching I enjoy my family, friends, backpacking, dancing, documentaries, and reading. Animals hold a soft spot in my life. I have a goldendoodle (Sawyer), doxie (Woody), two cats (Truman and Sophie), a hamster (Hamilton), and a gerbil (Lou).
