"The secret of teaching is to appear to have known all your life what you learned this afternoon." ~Anonymous
Welcome to my classroom!
I have a passion for teaching students life skills that they can use after high school; whether they go on to college, vocational school, or on-the-job training.
Career development skills are why I got into teaching. Some of the skills that I hope to instill in students are interview skills, speaking, writing, and non-verbal skills, and employability skills. I love helping students figure out what they are interested in pursuing after high school. I truly believe that life after high school doesn't always mean 4 year college; after high school could be vocational school, community college, or on-the-job training. 45% of all new job openings are considered middle-skill jobs that require significant education (less than a bachelors degree) or some training. Most of these jobs cannot be outsourced to other countries. These high-skill, high-wage jobs provide a tremendous opportunity for students to have a quality career with minimal expense. Student's need to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, their personality type, and their interests to determine what career field would best suit them.
Respect is the key to my classroom. With mutal respect, everything works cohesively; respect me, respect each other, and respect the classroom equipment.
Please feel free to email me any time! I look forward to an amazing year.
