Mrs. Courtney Leair
My name is Mrs. Courtney Leair. I have been watching cooking shows and cooking in my family's kitchen since I was very young. Family, cooking and culinary industry is something I have ALWAYS been passionate about! I love food, baking, cooking, catering events, nutrition, crafts, decorating and family life. Each of those interests could have taken me many different places, but teaching Culinary Arts incorporated all of my interests and is perfect for me! I have always loved training and teaching. I love sharing what I have learned as well as learning from others. I have work in the culinary industry for over 15 years. I trained and worked in many areas of the culinary industry. Now I am teaching at Grants Pass High School and I LOVE It!
I grew up in the Portland area in a town called Gresham. I attended Gresham High School. I am a Portland State University graduate and loved my experience there! Go Viks! I am married to my wonderful husband who is the Metal Fabrication Instructor here at GPHS. We have twin boys and love spending our spare time with them. My family loves eating and thankfully, don't mind me experimenting new recipes. In my spare time, I am usually watch my boys play youth sports, browsing food blogs, cooking, making some sort of craft or another, and spending time with my family.
I am passionate about what I teach and love teaching. The interests that started when I was little have turned into skills that I find so useful now. Now those skills have turned into a career I love. I am so excited for the opportunity to teach you and continually learn in my field of Culinary Arts.
