I am so excited for kindergarten this year. This will be my 14th year teaching at Redwood and my 4th year in Kindergarten. I taught 4th grade for 10 years and felt a strong pull to work more closely with the young children just starting out their educational experience. I love being able to see where it all begins!
I graduated from Southern Oregon University in 2003 with my Master of Arts in Teaching. My husband also happens to be in education, he is going into his 16th year at the district and is Principal at North Middle School. We have three children and they are growing up much too fast. Jace is 12 and 7th grade at North, Maddy is 10 and entering 5th grade and our youngest, Molly, is 8 and will be in 3rd grade at Redwood this year. I absolutely love my family. I spend my free time playing board games, crafting, gardening, going on drives, and hiking. We love to camp, fish and love all sports, especially football season! Go Cavemen! I feel so grateful to have time to enjoy my sweet family and look forward to September each year when I can finally greet those eager, excited little kindergartners!
This is such precious time in a child's life and I absolutely cherish my job and the responsibilities it entails; it is not something I take lightly. I will do my best to help your child grown in many ways this year, through movement, song, sign language, creativity, sharing my love of books and love for learning of all kinds! However; most of all to help him/her see that anything is possible and the sky is the limit!
