Hello! My name is Sharon McBerty and I teach fourth grade at Riverside. I have three daughters: Kailyn, Hallie, and Jessica. I also have lots of grandchildren to play with and a silly dog named Molly! I love reading, writing, hiking with my dog, going to the coast, and spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy acting, and have been in two recent Barnstormers productions.
I moved to Grants Pass from Las Vegas, Nevada where I taught 5th grade for six years, and worked as a sign language interpreter for seven. I absolutely love Grants Pass and I love working and teaching at Riverside.
In fourth grade, we learn and do so many new and exciting things! Be prepared to travel to Crater Lake, plant trees, imagine life on the Oregon Trail, and create an Ecosystem diorama, just to name a few. You’ll also multiply, divide, work with fractions, decimals, and use geometry.
Oh, and let’s not forget reading! I am an avid reader myself, and enjoy sharing and talking with my students about the amazing world of books! Just ask me…I can recommend some great titles! Of course you’ll learn a little sign language, too.
I look forward to having you in my class!
