    Letter from the Principal

Welcome to Parkside. We have an amazing staff who care deeply about your children. Everyone works hard to make Parkside a great place to learn and to make our families feel welcome.

We love having parent volunteers and would encourage you to volunteer as much as your schedule allows. If you plan on volunteering, whether in the classroom, on field trips or any other activitiy, please see the office to complete the needed background check paperwork.

Attendance is a very important part of your child's education. Evidence shows that students who attend school regularly achieve better grades, perform more successfully on tests, are more successful after hight school graduation and become responsible, productive citizens.  Any student who arrives to class after 8:00 a.m. is considered tardy. At the end of the year awards/promotion assembly, we give Perfect Attendance and Outstanding Attendance Awards. Perfect Attendance is no absences, no tardies and no early dismissals for the entire year. Outstanding Attendance is .5 - 2 absences, o more than 4 tardies and/or early dismissals. Please see the Parent & Student Elementary Handbook for more details on attendance. We do understand that flu bugs do go around and student's need to be home sick. When this happens, please be sure to contact the office before 8:00 a.m. to let them know.

I look forward to see you at Parkside. As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
