Dear Grants Pass High School Families,

As many of you know the Oregon School Activities Association cancelled all activities this fall. While the fall seasons have been moved to the spring, local school districts are allowed to continue activities on their campuses if they follow all directives from the Governor's Office, OHA and the ODE. We know how important these activities are to our students, faculty, and families, so we've done all that we can to contiue allowing our students the opportunities to be on our fields and our facilities whenever possible. However, we want to remind our families we are not allowing spectators at any of these events or practices during Season 1. We hope to revaluate these rules and guidelines as the year progresses with the hopes of having spectators during our offical OSAA Seasons.

Current state guidance dosen't allow for us to have visitors in our schools, therefore GPSD7 has taken the same position for athltics and other activities.

We know it's disappointing to not be able to cheer form the stands; we wish it were different too! But we appreciate all of our families and the community supporting us in the our efforts to give our Cavemen & Lady Cavers their chance to shine despite the current circumstances. We promise we will do our part too, to make sure the kids have these opportunities as much as possible.

When we limit the number of people gathering, we limit the risk of exposing our students, staff ad families to COVID-19. We want our students to coninue to have these opportunities to shine on the field and on the stage. We also want the opportunity for all of our students to be able to learn in the classroom again. We know these safety measures can work. Since the start of the 2020-21 school year, we have not had a single COVID-19 exposure in any of our buildings. We want to be the reason state restrictions are lifted for our schools, not the reason they stay closed. Thank you for supporting us and our efforts to keep all of students, staff and families safe.
