Degrees and Certifications:
I am excited to be entering into my second decade of working with high school students in the classroom and/or in a competitive setting. The thing I love about my job is giving students tools to be career and/or college ready, including: the tools to identify and obtain a job, realize their passions and dreams and turn that into a career, or simply to give them the personal communication skills to thrive in a workplace atmosphere. I grew up in Gresham, Oregon and have strong family ties to Dallas, Texas. As a student in high school and in college, sports were always a big part of my school experience. I have played or coached football for 30 years of my short life. I earned my undergraduate and master's degrees from Southern Oregon University, where I also played 4 years of football.
Mutual respect is the key to success in my classroom. Every environment has a different set of expectations, and to succeed in my classroom, respect is number 1. I will respect my students' right to learn and I expect students to respect my right to do my job and teach. In addition, I expect students to respect school equipment and neighboring classrooms.
