Lincoln Elementary Welcomes New Principal for 2026-27

Grants Pass School District 7 is pleased to welcome Ashley Monteil as the new principal of Lincoln Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year.

Ms. Monteil brings nearly two decades of experience in education, having served as a classroom teacher and school administrator since beginning her career in 2008. Most recently, she served as the Director of Instructional Excellence for KIPP Texas Public Schools, supporting strong instructional practices and the professional growth of school leaders. Prior to that, she was the founding principal of KIPP Journey Primary in Houston, where she helped establish a school culture centered on literacy, strong relationships, and joyful learning.

Although she is new to District 7, Southern Oregon already holds a special place in Ms. Monteil's heart because of her family's roots in the region. She is looking forward to making Grants Pass home and becoming a part of Lincoln Elementary School.

"I believe kids do their best learning when they feel safe, known, supported and excited to come to school each day," said Ms. Monteil. "I'm looking forward to meeting the students, families and staff at Lincoln and building strong relationships together as we begin this next chapter."

Outside of school, Ms. Monteil enjoys running, hiking, road trips and spending time outdoors with her two dogs, Bella and Luna.
