Goal 1

We will increase reading, writing, and math outcomes for all K-12 students.

Objective 1: Increase the number of students meeting/exceeding English Language Arts benchmarks on the Oregon State Assessment each year until we exceed state averages or until we reach a minimum of 90%:

We will...

  • Implement a new core reading curriculum at grades K-5 that is based on The Science of Reading by the end of 2024-2025

  • Develop and refine the Individual Planning Meeting (IPM) process for non Special Education students at the secondary level (ongoing)

  • Increase Early Learning opportunities and supports for pre-school age children (ongoing)

  • Expand AVID implementation K-12 (ongoing)

  • Increase the number of AVID WICOR strategies observed in all classrooms (ongoing)

  • Increase accountability and opportunities for before/after/summer school for students failing classes in grades 6-12 (ongoing)

  • Articulate and observe alignment of curriculum and assessments across all schools, grade levels and content areas (ongoing)

  • Create a student data dashboard to be made available to board members that will be updated a minimum of three times a year.
