Goal 3

We will increase career related learning experiences for all students in grades K - 12 in order to ensure added post-graduate readiness.

Objective 1: Increase student exposure to the number of career-connected opportunities in Kindergarten - 12th grade. 

We will...
  • Collect baseline data through teacher surveys during the 24/25 school year and establish a measurable goal moving forward (24/25)
  • Provide curriculum ideas, resources, and possible guest speakers to elementary, middle, and high school staff so as to increase student career-connected opportunities (ongoing) 

  • Utilize Naviance (or other tools like You Science) in grades 6 – 12 to identify student strengths, interests, and career goals (ongoing)

  • Increase community partnerships (ongoing)

Objective 2Ensure all students are ready to meet workplace expectations.

  • Collect baseline data through student surveys in the 10th and 12th grade year and establish a measurable goal moving forward (24/25)
  • Increase students, parents/guardians, and staff knowledge and understanding of workplace expectations (ongoing)

  • Expand AVID implementation K – 12 (ongoing)

Objective 3Provide strong and varied career and technical education pathways ensuring that all programs of study meet state requirements in all areas as measured by the ODE Perkins report.

We will...

  • Ensure alignment of middle school courses to high school courses (24/25)

  • Increase student knowledge in grades 5 – 8 of CTE opportunities at GPHS (ongoing)

  • Analyze CTE course to award alternate credit (25/26)

  • Build more awareness for parents of courses offered at GPHS (i.e. CTE one pager) (24/25)

  • Increase internships, job shadows, workplace learning experiences for high school students (ongoing)

  • Increase opportunities and connections for career and technical education at Gladiola High School and GPFLEX (ongoing)

  • Expand the Health Science program of study at GPHS by adding back an additional teacher (by 2027)

  • Increase the number of certifications students can earn in CTE courses (ongoing)

  • Increase professional development for CTE teachers (ongoing)
