Grants Pass School District 7’s annual One District, One Book begins Tuesday, February 16
Students, teachers, and staff members at every elementary school will read the same book together, as One District, One Book enters its third year in District 7.
GRANTS PASS, Ore. – For the third year in a row, every elementary student in Grants Pass School District 7 will participate in One District, One Book. It’s a program designed by the District’s Title 1 Coordinators to create a shared reading experience across the entire school community.
This year, GP Online elementary students will join District 7’s six elementary schools for One District, One Book. The book for the 2020-21 school year is: Life According to Og the Frog, by Betty G. Birney. Students don't know which book they are reading until the program kicks off each year.
Beginning February 16, students and staff will read through Life According to Og the Frog on a shared reading schedule. Kids will read along with teachers, principals, or other special guests in class or via video, and there will be a question of the day associated with each day’s reading. Back by popular demand, kids will receive a “Flat Og”. We’re encouraging families to share photos with the hashtags #OneDistrictOneBook and #FlatOg. We can’t wait to see where he pops up! Individual schools may create additional activities associated with the reading.
One District, One Book will wrap up on March 10, 2021.
