Jade Poulain, a 10th grader at GPHS, won the Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year for the 2nd year in a row.  The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle.  Jade earned a $1000 scholarship and now will compete at the state level for an additional $5000 from the Boys & Girls Club of America.  Jade has been a member of the Boys & Girls Club for over 7 years and has participated in many youth development programs.  Jade has over 250 volunteer hours at the club over the last 2 years.  Jade is also a part of the AVID program at GPHS.  Jade’s goal is to go to law school and plans to be involved in the Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force.  In her speech Jade stated,  “There are many characteristics that make up who I am, but resiliency, determination and positivity: those are the ones I believe to be most important. I know that my limits are endless and if I work hard, anything is possible. I've set many goals for myself and I am determined to accomplish them.”
